The competition takes place on Saturday, July 15th.

The theme is ‘Magical Creatures of the Forest’.

Registration for 2024 is not yet open

Who can participate?

Every face and bodypainter is eligible to apply but to guarantee a fair competition, a selection process is in place.

The competition does not use skill based categories and the selection process will prevent large skill gaps.

Applications for the bodypainting have closed and all further applications will be moved to a waiting list in case of cancellations!

What to expect as a painter?

The competition splits facepainters from bodypainters. Each category will have 12 participants and each painter is granted a space within a large 12 x 21m marquee.

Painters will be able to find a photo studio within this marquee as well, where a professional photographer will create images of the final results. Painters are expected to bring their own model.

Bodypainters:

Bodypainters are allowed to bring an assistant to help with the painting. The bodypaint competition starts at 9:00 and ends at 15:00

Bodypainters will be provided with:

  • Weekend + camping wristbands for the painter and model
  • Weekend wristband for the assistant (can be upgraded)

Facepainters:

Facepainters are not allowed to bring an assistant to help with the painting. The facepaint competition starts at 11:00 and ends at 13:00

Facepainters will be provided with:

  • Weekend wristbands for the painter and model

All models are expect to do a stage performance of 1 minute at 17:00 on the Royal Stage.

Each painter will be provided with a table, bench and chair (bodypainter) or 2 chairs (facepainter) and the possibility of electricity.

Judging and prizes

Both competitions will be judged by 5 professionals, including former world champions.

Each paint will be judged on 4 categories:

  • Technique and level of difficulty
  • Use of colour
  • Interpretation of the theme and originality
  • Composition and overall image

Both categories offer the following monetary  and non-monetary prizes:
1st place: £ 100 + painting materials
2nd place: £ 75 + painting materials
3rd place: £ 50 + painting materials

A model prize of £ 25 is also available to the model with the best stage performance.

All participants will get a goodie bag. Goodie bags and non-monetary prizes are sponsored by Cameleon
