Wendy Froud is an American doll-artist, sculptor, and puppet-maker, best known for her work creating Yoda for the 1980 film Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (and being one of the puppeteers of Yoda) and creatures for the Jim Henson films The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth (her son Toby played baby Toby in Labyrinth as well).
In the last year she has been spending a lot of time in the US, working with the Henson Workshop on a prequel to the Dark Crystal which will air as a Netflix exclusive series in 2019.
Her art is featured in three books co-created with Terri Windling: A Midsummer Night's Faery Tale, The Winter Child, and The Faeries of Spring Cottage.
Wendy has published a book of her own writings, illustrated with her dolls and figures. The Art of Wendy Froud. She also writes for magazines and has her own fiction writing included in two anthologies.
Wendy has exhibited in Museums and galleries in the US, UK, Europe and Japan and her work is in private collections throughout the world. She is an Academician of the British Southwest Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.
